I have an 86 22r that I just bought a long block and installed it. After getting everything hooked up, I cranked it and it actually started and ran for a couple of seconds. However that is when I realized that oil was shooting out of the block onto the firewall. Here is my question. On the right side of my block, directly under the oil filter is a threaded hole in the block. This is where the oil is shooting out from. At first I thought that I may have installed the pressure sending unit in the wrong spot, however after removing it I realized that the hole under the filter is a finer thread than the sending unit. I believe that the sending unit installs on the block directly BEHIND the filter, is that right? It fits on there and I believe that is the place I removed it from. I believe I need a block plug for the hole UNDER the filter, however like I said before it is a finer thread than the sending unit which I believe is 1.25. I was wondering if anyone knew what size plug I need to find to put in there. Also, if I cant find a plug that size, would it be OK if I just found a bolt that was that size and put it in with RTV? Sorry for the long post, but thanks in advance.
