Hey guys, thanks for the answers. I figured out what I did wrong. Apparently when I had the block on the stand putting everything together, I managed to put the pressure sending unit in the wrong hole. I guess due to it being nice soft aluminum, it screwed right in with my fingers. I don't know what the extra hole is for but my application doesn't use them as far as I can tell. Anyway, after spraying oil all over the firewall, I actually looked at the digital pictures that I took of the old block. Lo and behold I realized that my sensor was in the wrong spot. Anyway, since I damaged the threads on the sensor when I screwed it in the wrong hole (different pitch), I bought another one. I will install it later when I get a chance.

Lesson 1 I learned: Always look in a hole before you put something in it.

Lesson 2 I learned: review digital camera pictures BEFORE you try and put the block together.

I like the idea of the aftermarket guage though. I have put them on other engines before, however I might get around to putting one on the toyota sometime.

Anyway thanks for the help.
