The v6 has a fuel line pulse dampener on the end of it. It's extremely hard to see, but it's on the very end of the passenger side fuel rail right under the intake manifold. These leak fuel.

Are you saying that it is common for these to leak fuel? What does this dampener look like??

Well, yesturday morning after I got to work (25 min drive) I turned off the engine and smelled under the hood and the smell was not coming from the evap. canister but from under the intake manifold. That is where the 2 injectors were that I replaced. BUT, I had the fuel smell even before I replaced the injectors and the smell is the reason I tore it open in the first place!

I am guessing that the smell is SOMETHING coming from the fuel lines going to the fuel rail or a bad o-ring on one of the injectors. Man, I don't want to have to tear this thing open again. I hate that there are so many vaccum lines and you have to drain the coolant to take the intake manifold off.....Oh well, I guess if I want the smell fixed then I have to do it...
Thanks for all of your help and comments. Please tell me EXACTLY how you place the injectors in the fuel rail (I will check them first and probably replace the o-rings) and how to replace the dampener or check it.
