The combo is I put together is as follows
The bottom end is a 1987 stock 22re.
The top end is a 1987 stock turbo head.
Everything else ecu afm injectors ect. are from the original turbo truck. I just put a different short block in there b/c the original shortblock was siezed. So I guess this combo should give me a compression ration between 8.5 and 9.0. With the stock boost of 6 or 7 psi I should be alright as far as pinging goes?

I'm not sure that the pinging is all that bad. The valve chatter is much worse and that may be what I'm hearing. So its hard to tell if the motor is actully pinging. Except for the valve chatter the motor is running pretty good, it idles smoothly, accelerates smoothly and makes decent power.

I'm ordering a new set of adjuster screws and hopefully that will cure the chatter and I can move onto tuning the rest of the motor.
