With the current price of steering arms being practically nothing I do not understand why anyone would run welded steering arms on a street rig.

While I am sure you are a competent welder I believe you made a poor decision to weld up his arms. Should your weld fail you have left yourself wide open to litigation as has the owner of the truck. Bad idea. Welded arms have failed in the past and will continue to in the future. I hope yours does not.

If I were you I would stick to gears.
