Getting the Wheeling Fever
Greetings zu folk. While swapping in the 3.4, the original motor mounts have puked out onto the floor in several pieces. It's a 91 Trooper, 2.8 V6. I have searched through countless threads in search of info regarding these mounts. The 3.4 is from a 95 Firebird. Realizing that these mounts are not avail. through advanced auto, auto zone or any other local parts house, I was wondering if you guys may be able to point me in the right direction. Thoughts of going to a dealer bring on other thoughts of recipes for pipe bombs and the like. . So, uh yeah...anyway, any help you guys have is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Are you talking the mounts themselves , or the bracket mounts that bolt to the engine itself?I bought new mounts for when I install my engine , but I also want to get the bracket parts.According to the local dealer , one side is 80 , and the other side was like 120.Not sure why the difference in price for these parts. It would be nice to find some cheaper ones for sure.Right now I'm just waiting to be able to afford the last parts I need before I get the swap all stared.

I'm assuming I need just the motor mounts. The shop doing the work just told me that when they pulled the 2.8, the motor mounts fell apart. I personally haven't seen them with my own two eyes, or any kind of motor mount for that matter. I'm assuming that the bushings were in rough shape, rotton, cracked etc. Did you go through the dealer to get your mounts?

Yes , I got the mounts through the dealer , and I believe it was about 60 for both mounts.I could be wrong on that as I did get some other stuff at the same time too.But it is worth putting the new mounts in while you change the engine out as they are usualy pretty worn out if they haven't been changed in the truck yet.

If they have the actual engine mounts that bolt to the engine , and not the motor mounts , I could use a set for the 2.8 bansil. They don't have any isuzu at the wreckers here , and they are worth about 250 or so through the dealers for the set I did buy brand new motor mounts , but I don't have the engine mount brackets to get the motor all done before install. They were different prices too , I think the passenger side was like 40 bucks more than the drivers side.

Sounds like you are looking for the motor mount cushions.
The "motor mount" consists of the bracket and the cushions.
Unless the brackets are bent or messed up, the cushion should
be the only thing you need.

Send Jerry Lemond a note at jlemond@bellsouth.net

He may have some low mileage used ones he'll sell you.
If he doesn't, he can get you factory new ones cheaper than
any dealer will.

Yeah , the new ones come with the cusion inside the bracket allready. And then those bolt up to the brackets on the engine , and the frame rail. But its the engine bracket ones that are expensive Also , make sure you put the mounts on proper , I left mine in the bag from the factory that say L and R on them as they do look very similar
