well i replaced the head on my 89RS 2.6 about a year ago, when i got it all back together i noticed an oil leak. didn't pay much attention to it at the time because of other issues. well i got it going again, (long down time due to school and lack of time) and noticed it leaking pretty bad. I saw it bubbling a little from the front of the valve cover so i was hoping it was running down from there all over the front of the motor. well i resealed the valve cover gasket and retorqued my head bolts but no luck. its still leaking and its coming out right over the water pump which looks to be the head gasket. is there something else that it could be leaking from? i replaced the timing belt and head, got a new isuzu head gasket?? or is this just my bad luck and a freak thing that happened?

Cam seal?

Also, did you seal the front cam bearing/seal cap when you put it back together?

well that sounds better than the head gasket. I had a machine shop put the head together and i also got the delta cam and had them put that in at the same time. i don't believe i ordered a cam seal, and i don't remember one being with the cam, so unless it came in the the new head, i guess it hasn't been replaced.

how do you replace the cam seal? take off the timing belt, timing belt cover, and remove the sprocket the timing belt goes on??

thanks

Yes. Cam seal goes in the housing for the front cam journal.

But, the rest of that stuff has to come off.
