Ah, the military brick. After a couple years, about as usefull as one.

They spend $500 on each radio (even our new digital trunked ones), then when the ni-cad battery gets old, they don't spend $25 to replace the battery. Got a bad battery? Swap batteries with someone else, or grab another 10-minute battery off the charger.

yeah....that's a sore point. In 20 years of the military, we've bought a lot of new radios when all we needed was a new battery.
