She has a 99 4Runner and her Ipod remote will open the doors. Its going to suck when the criminals figure this one out.

Any more info on this? I wonder if you reprogram your remote (moving it to a different frequency) if that would take care of the problem.
At least it's not like the rest of the new cars that don't have a key. Otherwise, the IPOD would unlock the doors and you could jump in and hit the "engine start" button and the thief would be on their way.

Thats not that bad, I've started a total of 8 different 'Yotas, all '85-'89 trucks and 4Runners with my ignition key....just gotta jimmy the door and your golden. Anyone else able to do this or do I have a master key?

Could be.
Now that I think about it, back in my highschool days my buddy had an OLD 70's 2wd Yota, and we used to sneak out in the middle of the night and start it up with a screwdriver and park it in someone elses driveway

Yeah the newer ones are a *little* better, add a hammer to that equation and you got a key.......maybe thats why out Yotas get stolen so often

I didn't know the Japanese do that like the Chinese. In China they have "free" bicycles of a certain color. Take it, ride it, leave it for the next guy.
