Checking the choke is easy.... when you first start up the truck (engine cold), the choke plate should be in the closed position. Once the engine warms enough, it should begin to open and remain open. Most service manuals will give you a troubleshooting guide as to how you can check individual parts of the choke system (i.e. automatic choke system, choke opener, etc..)
