I think you meant the 3.2 5-speed is Isuzu specific? It is, but the motor has a dual pattern for the 60 deg GM bellhousing pattern.

I should have been clearer. Since its a 5-speed truck in question, and the issue was whether a 4.3 could be put in place of a 3.2, I got my mind going that direction.

Now, if my understanding is correct, the 3.2 does have a double pattern on the block, however, the transmission has the Isuzu-specific pattern that does not bolt to any GM engine? If so, then the initial answer that a engine/tranny/t-case swap is the only way to put a 4.3 in the Rodeo still holds. Now, the potential of putting a 3.2 in a first gen v-6 Trooper is intriguing, but that's a different project.
