I am not sure if a larger one will fit in there. A longer one maybe, if it has the right threads. You could get one of the relocating kits that has an option for two filters from performance products.

How is the wheeling up above Gold Lake? I was up there back in July of '98 but I didn't get to explore much beyond the lake. Each year I have tried to schedule a run there, but my buddies always seem to want to go going somehwere else. Is the area still closed to 4x's in the winter?
