just so happens i used to live in lake of the pines and then higgins corner and had a grass valley address at the latter. now i live in plumas pines and there are dirt roads that go on forever. i have done limited driving near gold lake mostly fishing and hiking, there is so many roads in this area as well as history( mostly gold history). they keep the road clear up to a new snow mobile staging area built in '00 but otherwise snow is 5' at that point up to maybe 10' plus. anyways i just got my '90 and am ready to change the oil. the previous owner gave me a "pure one, purolater" and it is the smallest filter i have ever seen.
