It should be the right size, the 3.0 uses the same size filter as the 22r(4cyl.) engines. I have always used the Fram# PH3614. When you go to fill it, the 3.0 tends to take about 5.5 quarts for it to register on the dip stick. I find the easiest way to change the filter is to go in through the side above the frame rail. You basically do it blind, but it is easier than trying to get at from below.

I actually live about 7 miles from LOP. If you haven't been down this way in a while, the Higgens Corner area has been built up alot.
