i currently have 15x8 black steel wheels on 33x12.50 m/t's but im considering buying some 15x10 eagle alloys b/c they are fairly inexpensive, look great, lighter, and wider for a better tire contact patch. since im going wider im trying to gain as little unsprung weight and rotational mass as possible so i think alloys are the way to go. will the 15x10 alloys actually be lighter than the 15x8 stellies and if they are do you think i will i notice the weight that is taken off or get better gas mileage? These are what i want. Eagle Alloy Rim Specs These are my current wheels( the chart doesnt list the weights) American Racing Black Steel Wheels

i was also looking at this and it got me wondering how strong the eagle alloys acutally are b/c i think they are the same as the mickey thompson wheels in this test. Wheel Hell Test

I can't comment on the weight difference between a steel 15x8 and alloy 15x10 wheel but I felt a very noticeable difference in power going from 15x8 steel wheels to 15x8 aluminum wheels. Truck seems to stop a little bit quicker w/ aluminum wheels too.

Alloys are great off road too. I've bent steel wheels in the past w/o much difficulty, but I've beat the crap out of my cheapie Eagle 589's for about 5 years now with no problems whatsoever. I wish I had a closeup picture, they've been WORKED, but still work great.
I'll never buy steel wheels.

I went from 15x8 AR steelies to 15x8 MT Classic II's with the same set of BFG MT 32" tires on both rim sets. the Classic II's were cheaper from Summitracing.com than anyone else had the eagle wheels. they made a slight difference in throtte response and a huge difference in handling. I think it had a bigger effect on my ride/handling becuase I have a solid axle truck.
