Local nissan club came across this guy while wheeling Charouleau gap trail. How'd you like to wake up to this in your tent. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

Looks nice and cudly...
Ive only seen a Mountain Lion once and that was in semi-captivity(a roaming animal park you can drive in)
Ive heard enough stories of them taking riders off of horesed and carrying them away to know that they are not to be messed with.

They are endangered in Arizona too, not sure what the law is.

I'm a wildlife major so I get pissed when I see stuff like that. Though i'm not a econazi.

What scares me most is if they did infact shoot it, why are they even carrying firearms while offroading?

Yep, would appear to be a wounding shot in the leg, then a finish it off shot in the chest.

You must have missed the memo...4WD vehicles and firearms go together. I personally do not like loose firearms (gloveboxes, center consoles, door pockets), I believe they should be holstered and worn if a handgun; and secured properly if a long gun.

Too many 4x4's, not enough time or money
