That's good, looks like you can hunt them in AZ with a tag. Don't forget to send in the tooth http://www.azgfd.gov/h_f/game_lion.shtmlMOUNTAIN LION SPECIAL REGULATIONS: All hunters must contact an Arizona Game and Fish Department office in person, or by telephone (1-877-438-0447), within 10 days of taking a lion (pursuant to R12-4-308). Within 20 days after contacting the department, the hunter shall provide to the Phoenix office of the Arizona Game and Fish Department a premolar tooth taken from the mountain lion (see illustration below).

I like cats, but that one is about the size of the leopards that killed so many of out ancestors that there are brescia deposits meters thick in some caves, and all the skulls have two neat punctures at the base of the skull, because the eye sockets make such a handy purchase for hauling away the kill in the front of the head, and plains ape heads were a perfect mouthful. Pumas are supposed to kill humans just like tigers do. Attack from behind and blind by ripping the face off with the claws, then get a good mouthful of windpipe, and clamp down and hang on till the twitching stops.
Not responsible for advice not taken...

So.....
Your saying that because they have a natural instinct to kill in order to survive that they should be eliminated as a threat? We havent avenged our "ancestors" deaths enough with the near extinction of theirs and nearly every other species in North America by the 1950's?
Call me a bleeding heart, but they were here first, and have just as much of a right to live.

What scares me most is if they did infact shoot it, why are they even carrying firearms while offroading?
You've never been on a reservation or near Mexico's border, have you? But you know, why do you wear a seatbelt if you're not gonna get in an accident? I mean, anyone who buckles their seatbelt must be LOOKING for a collision to get into. Right?

But Eric the seat belt doesn't kill people. It has been a proven fact that guns themselves kill people, no more guns no more dead people. The number of trail side shootings are staggering.

You must have missed the memo...4WD vehicles and firearms go together. I personally do not like loose firearms (gloveboxes, center consoles, door pockets), I believe they should be holstered and worn if a handgun; and secured properly if a long gun. I believe window mounts should be optional equipment on all SUV's Those critters are migrating east and a problem now in Iowa and elsewhere. I read an article where a group of farmers in Iowa believe its a government conspiracy. Somewhere else I read they've "crossed" the Mississippi.
