it really wouldn't be that hard to make an adjustable mount for those springs. like if you cut the spring down and drilled a hole through the bumpstop welded a nut to the top side of it and then welded a plate to a big bolt, with a jam nut, iguess. for the road, loosen it up, for haulin stuff, cranck er down.
they also make a really easy adj air bag set up for leveling out ciol spring suvs like the montero. i was looking inoto it for one of my buddies.

And here I thought you were making a funny... Hey, ZUK- I was hanging out at a shop and oogling a 4Runner with portal axles and airbag suspension, and I thought to myself- Hey, moron, pay attention. What if you did a ZUK and put not a coil on your diff, but an airbag, manually adjustable to haul out that 1,000 lb. trophy bull elk you've never gotten and never will except in your dreams? Know any sources for said simple airbag assemblies, available without the computers and other evil technology? That's funny! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> EDIT----air bag sources are available.....I bet Google knows.

Although the center coil is a cool idea, I couldn't use it cuz I have a "Budbuilt" traction bar. My 85 pickup is sagging in the rear (4" AllPro's) and I like your dual spring setup idea. It looks doable for me. Any idea which spring would be best to get just 2 inches of lift? Guess I should ask if you carry anything in the bed and did you take the spare off just for the pic's? I have a 35inch spare mounted in the stock location and a tool box in the front of the bed, and occasionally carry some weight in the bed. ha! My friend Scotty was having sag issues with his new 5" AllPro rear packs. They articulated nicely and were very soft riding but they were "settling" beyond acceptable limits. http://gearinstalls.com/scottcoil.htmThe center coil saved him. The dual coils would work just fine for you. It sure is alot less fabrication involved. For 2" of lift, the 150 pounders would fit the bill. I bet the 150# works for all needs. Someone wants a little more lift, just add a 'spacer block'. It's so adjustable anyways....ZUK

ZUK - About how much does this process run? I've been looking for a way to get my truck's rear end back up. I've been getting quotes ranging from 250-900 for a new set of rear springs for my '93 pickup. I haul a lot of tools and I've been sitting on the overloads when empty for a while. It seems like your solution would do the trick.

I have an interest in this too (1990 4wd pickup stock). I was going to order the rancho add a leaf kit (long and short leaf system) to solve my dragging butt syndrome. I also considered air bad kits, but they limit droop/travel and the bags can get damaged...not too promising, even for a stocker. I was also wondering ZUK's opinion of cutting the overload off behind the rear axle once a "secondary suspension" is installed. The front section of overload may still help with axle wrap. Maybe the lower coil mount can be a ubolt flip kit ...

Zuk inspired me to do this quite a while back when he posted these picks last time. I got some springs from Auto Zone for about $20.00. I did basically the same thing but just a little different. I have a shell on my 92 and it was sagging severely, but this leveled the truck right out. Awesome idea Zuk....it has served me well.
