Assuming a stock front leaf springs and steering, probably won't be able to uses coils like that. Hardly any clearance for steering and very little room to the bump stops for any sort of spring. Perhaps you would use a coil helper spring on the shock or an air shock if there is a suitable one that would fit. Stock shock mounts are not terribly robust, so they might fail under the added load. New lift springs would likely be the best option.

I would think more stable too. Pretty important in the front.

where they front or rear springs? im assuming this is directed at me? they are rear springs from the TJ. the TJ fronts are taller and have a heavier spring rate. I have a set of those too. the fronts have the same "neck down" at the bottom and the tops are open enough to fit over the "landing pad" but you would have to cut a lot off the top, but might be an option if you want more lift.

Very Cool!
Now I know what to do with my leftover coils from the FJ80. The front coils might work better than the rears, they are smaller in diameter.
Napoleon047, how hard was it to cut the coil springs from the tj?
thanks...

stock rear TJ coil with the top cut off a bit. fits perfectly, and a nice 2" lift to fix the saggy butt on my brother's 87 4runner. no fabrication necessary. total cost: $5 for some 'junk' TJ coils great idea ZUK! I'm interested in this as well....Is this what I need? eBay Thanks.......
