I think there's plenty of pics and ideas on this thread....now if you prefer ZUK to fab up a set then let me know. Geriatric Your truck looks so nice and clean. People like me, who live in the rustbelt, just want to cry when we think of all the trucks like yours that are already long gone to the crusher up here. In any case, where do these red coils come from? They look like lift kit springs. I will probably do this spring thing just to feel like I'm making progress towards a real coil suspension. Anybody recognize the springs in the picture below. What do you think? Custom springs, Jeep lift springs or stockers off of what? -- Matt

My truck was purchased new here in Fl. so even now it is virtually rust free. It was stock when I got it and I started it out to be a trail rig but now I just want to keep it well maintained and do some restoration while parts are still available. Btw, did you see my last post to you in the "wanted" section of the classifieds?

I had to search around a bit to find the coils here scroll down to the lower half of the page once you get there. Very cool though. So those springs are 2.5" I.D. and what, about 3.5" O.D.? I like that they come in 8", 10" 12" 14" and 16" lengths and with rates of 100lbs/in to 500lbs/in. What sizes and rates are you working with and how much do they cost? -- Matt

I've only touched the 150 and 200 pounders....they were costing around 100 per pair. The 12 inchers were in stock....the others weren't. Thinking of trying something yourself?

Hey Zuk Ive got 3" blocks under the rear of my 88 runner but the rear still sets about 2" lower than the front, front has 4" IFS lift. Would the stock hieght application suffice since the top of the spring pack has been lifted by the block? Or even better do you think I could apply the coil setup to allow me to get rid of the blocks altogether?

... Thinking of trying something yourself? But of course! First I'll try some TJ coils to boost my sagging rear a bit (to match the new 1"+ Alcan leaf springs I already have for the front). Later I'd like to try to fabricate an all coil rear like the one in the picture I posted a few messages earlier in this thread. I'm thinking about a three link system with panhard bar (track bar). A control arm from each of the front rear spring mounting points, another from the "horse collar" crossmember (or somewhere there abouts, getting the geometry right being a key factor) to some bracketry on the top of the differential all made up out of 2-1/2" DOM tubing with Currie Johnnie Joints at the attachment points. If the rear goes well it will give me confidence to attack the front. -- Matt

ZUK, you may want to cap off the square tube used on the lower coil mount and capture. all of us who dont live in AZ will benefit from not having water, snow, mud etc build up in there.
im assuming your kits are no welding required, so how do the upper mounts attach to the frame?
