Well since the threads been brought back I got a picture to share.

[Linked Image]

I had the canopy off and the truck empty for the New Years weekend.

My truck still feels great and I'm still a happy camper.

Contrary to Staceman's report I actually have body roll that I didn't have before. Pre-ZUKification my rear shackles were up against my hitch when I had any sort of load in the truck effectivly reducing my travel to zero.

I put in the TJ front coils over my chevy 63's last week. I didn't fab brackets as I wanted to see how it would be/flex/ride first, I just put 'em over the bumpstops. I am VERY happy with the ride, it doesn't feel wallow-y like it did before. But flex...I don't think it's going to be too good. It pushes the leaf spring down so far I don't feel like I have very much down travel left. I promise I will take pics and get them posted in the next day or so...but my gut reaction is that I'll be fabbing some brackets, maybe putting a short block in, and using the REAR TJ coils. We'll see...

Texjeff---let me know if you would prefer some pre-fabbed mounts....I have some I made up for TJ coils.

I made a link summarizing what has gone on in this long thread. It's on my webpage, too. http://gearinstalls.com/dc.htm

Kona---- Definately not saggin in the rear there!

OK so here's the pics I promised. Lift is good, it matches my SAS with marlin springs, nice and level. I did take the next-to-shortest leaf out of the front springs. Anyhow, you can see how far it pushes the chevies down...

But as I said before, I am not sure about the flex aspect. Maybe I'll get a chance to try it out tomorrow..

And just for grins, here's one of my groovy new triple-drilled output flange from Marlin...the cause of the " actual complaint about Marlin" thread on the OT forum. Attached to it is my groovy new CV driveshaft...

...that needs shims for correction of angle at the axle...

Zuk, I got my setup in last night, a little low in the rear still so I'll be installing the 2" spacers today. The ride is great

thanks for the update Brent. The 2" spacer will give you about 1.25" of lift due to the sharing effect....and you still have the longer shackle option. ZUK

edit---Keep in mind, with that much vertical lift due to the coils, that the shackle will be fairly straight up and down.....so it's not a bad idea to break the shackle welds loose and move them an inch forward for better angle as well as extend them in length an inch or two. That should give you the stinkbug look

I installed 2" spacer and its still just a little low but I think I'll just leave it alone, the ride is great on road and I crossed my creek a few times and really like the flex I have now. I want to go to a soft top this summer so I might get a 1/2" or so then...

cool....read my edited post above.

moving the shackle forward....and extending it will give you even better droop and MORE lift.

Brent----is it possible to post or email me a couple pics of the profile now?....like maybe one from the side....and one shot from behind with the spare out of the way so I can see the spacer and the coil and the and the overload leaf....and the shackle angle? ZUK
