The key here is to get the lowest overload leaf off the rest of the spring pack. If your leaves are off the lowest one, you are probably OK. My 4Runner feels more like a caddy after this little inexpensive "mod". Your truck will have a "sprinboard" affect when resting on the overload. You may not even know it because it takes so long for the springs to act up like this. Not an overnite difference with the ride for sure, until the mod is complete at least.
