I only took off about 2 inches. It seem to fit better and seems to be "captive" on top. I was worried about it falling out, but this way, it can't fall out unless it is loose and is turned about 90 degrees. I also put some heater hose on each end. I used dishwashing soap to get them to slide on and then rinsed with water to remove most of the soap and keep them from moving. I like it so far, but need to get the front up just a bit to level everything out.....

How high should I go. I had 36 inches from the ground to the finder. Now I have 36 3/4. (14 1/4 from rim to finder) Seems like I cranked a lot. Can I break anything if I go too far?

Thanks.

AFAIK, as you aren't going to break anything. You just have to watch it and make sure that you're not too close to the droop bump stop. I cranked mine about 1.5 inches, now I've got about 15 inches from the rim to the fender and it rides fine, really leveled it out alot. In the near future I'm going to be getting some low profile bump stops for a little more droop along with Rogers diff drop kit. If you're really concerned about it, get some 1.5 inch ball joint spacers here, they'll give you a 1.5 inch lift and allow you to keep your t-bars at the stock preload, or you can even crank them some more to get even more lift. I would, but my frame is FUBARed from the PO, so a SAS is the only thing that's gonna make my truck happy

4WD22R-- Did it take about 10 full turns to get the 1.5"? Just wondering. You now have what I call the 1st stage of lift.....cheapest bestest bang for the money involved. Now when you get ready for the next stage of lift, that's gonna cost MONEY....and one mod after the other.

Anyways, I'm waiting for Brent from Kentucky to chime in....I sent some shackles to him....3" longer than factory....I used 1/4"x2" flat-stock for the sides....I welded the 9/16" bolts in for rigidity to make a "C style" shackle. Brents at about the maximum lift the process will allow. Just wondering what it looks like now. ZUK

I added the shackles yesterday, its snowing right now...I will get some pics up later today and let you check it out. For me it was just what i wanted...four to five inches of rear lift no blocks and a slinky smooth ride.

To tell ya the truch ZUK, I'm really not sure.....I lost count and just torqued them to where my front fenders were the same height from the rim as my rears....sorry, I tend to get eaisly distracted and lost my count....several times

Need a Spot
I have a few sets of springs from Fox body Fords laying around. On a stock suspension, what height spring should I start at? I don't want to start out too short!\TIA;Paul
