Is there anyway I can buy these springs through you. I'm having a hard time finding the ones you are talking about. I have a stock '88 runner with the exact same problem you had. I would like to put on the 200lb springs, and if possible, the fabricated mounting assembly for the top. I am planning on offroading. Do I need a bottom mounting bracket also? I'm in Colorado, is that a problem?

I've got an '88 Runner. What springs exactly did you buy from Autozone. I'm having a really hard time finding the right springs. Thanks The TJ coil? Autozone should have a coil book and be able to order a set....if the partsman is savy enough. You can order the red coils from here http://www.ground-control-store.com/products/description.php?II=215 or get a kit from me.

Samrholdr,
The links on my last post are updated to good locations so you can see the pictures.
If you're in the Ft. Collins area, Bullhide has the TJ stock rear coils for $15/ea.

BTW those brackets on my springs and frame are for the AirLift bags that were restricting the travel of my rear. They helped with the bottoming out but would sometimes seem a little stiff. I'll put them back on if I want to tow the trailer.
In my minimal testing with the stock suspension, I couldn't get the axle and frame far enough apart that the coils could possibly come off the bumper. Maybe if I really articulated with longer throw shocks, it might happen. Just have Monroe Sensatracs (sp?)

That would be similar to a 3.5 inch spacer. Post pics

OK, so I'm seriously considering doing this mod now that I busted my lift blocks. It's either this, or an add-a-leaf. I'm afraid the add-a-leaf wont give me enough lift. I'm shooting for 3" of lift. I have to have AT LEAST 2".
Has anyone successfully ran this setup with 63" chevys, and NOT had any problems with flex? I'm afraid they would either pop out when you droop one side out, or if you had the captured springs, they might get hung up and not allow the wheel to droop all the way.
Zuk, how much would you charge for a set of the captured spring mounts, top and bottom? I have 63" chevys with a ubolt flip. Also, what springs would you recommend? Cheaper the better. I will get a measurement from spring plate to frame for you a little later, I'm sure you'll need that.

Adam----Wheel travel/articulation is not hurt in any way.....in the case of factory stocker leafs the artic is actually enhanced (ask Brent from Kentucky in this thread).
With the mounts on each end, I can send you a pair of 14" coils for 220 plus shipping. They should work just fine with your Chevy springs. They are captured so they won't pop out. Do you have the distance from spring to frame?.....and do you still have the snubber stoppers still welded to the underside of the frame? If you can, post a pic of the current set-up. ZUK

Adam, the flex is enhanced. Having the coils slightly compressed at install seems to provide a little bit of preload on downward travel to the opposite side. The onroad ride is also greatly improved. I have the 3" blocks leftover from my ZUK coil upgrade if you need them to get going until you upgrade to the ZUKS you can have them.

Zuk, I measured from the top of the spring plate to the frame rail, and its about 11". here's what it looks like (dont mind the funky ubolts, they were a quick fix) How much for just the set of coil mounts? I wasnt looking to spend all that much, but if I have to I will. And how do they install? I noticed you had some holes drilled on the lower ones, so I assume I drill matching holes in my ubolt flip plates and bolt them on. but what about the upper mounts? Do they weld on?
