How did you build the cage???

110v welder. Flux.

The tube chassis you see, my buddy used a 110v welder to tack everything in place, and then brazed it using this method

Yeah, this definately looks like a future hobby, when the gas is expensive and the streets are busy, i'll just wheel in my backyard. Think i'd have to make my own body though....i'm thinking 84 toyota style

Thats the "bruiser" body, and if you want to buy one, they can be as expensive at $1000 on ebay FOR JUST THE BODY. A rough body that needs work is still several hundred dollars!

I wish somebody made a lexan body for these things that is proportional, so it didn't look like a monster truck.

Not lexan, but if you go to Wal Mart or ToysRUS they have 1:6 scale trucks like a Tundra DoubleCab, Nissan Tital Doublecab, Hummer, Escolade, F150, and some others, and you can use this on a R/C. But it will be too big and heavy to do any SERIOUS crawling.

I have a Humvee 1:6 scale body that I eventualy will mount on a F/R independent suspended truck.

I had it mounted to my clod, but it was waaaay to big

FYI my site has a few more pics of my builds

Yes, my truck, driven by me. Jason Carter, who writes for RC Driver, was at a rock crawling competetion I was at at the Green River in Rochester KY. He told me my rig would be in it. I havent gotten the magazine yet, but I'm going to go get it if its out.

Can you scan the article? What month issue was it in?
