You could join up with some of the other CA guys to learn stuff. There are several clubs in California, just check the competition and get together sections on RCC.

Here's my new rig. My buddy built it. I'm going to run it for a while, and then build my own. I still have to make shock towers and mount the drive shafts. It uses emaxx diffs and tranny, and a custom built tube frame and high clearance tube axles. MIP CVD's front and rear, and revo drive shafts.
