Thanks for the info, i think i'll probably take both options...the wall mart in the next town, closer than mine, has a bunch of the 1:18 nylites...pretty cheap for $45, just to mess with over this winter break and such, and begin saving and trying to collect parts, axels, etc. for a custom made crawler.

Is the clod a good type to go for modified? for a beginnner? I liked the type with the drivelines and trannys, TXT, but figured that would just be more parts that could break...keep it simple?
