I've ran it a few times. It's a lot of fun, for what it is. It doesnt really do good in the snow though. Doesnt have much ground clearance. I havent been able to really get out and use it since all the good crawling spots are covered in snow Once the tires get wet they don't work very well.
It's fun to crawl over stuff indoors though. I was crawling over the wife on the couch. That was fun!
I'm going to cut some of the coils off the springs to make it sit lower and give it a better center of gravity. The COG is kind of high in stock form. I'm hoping I can work on that.
As soon as the snow clears I'm going to build a rock course in the backyard.

Just picked up the Nylite 1:18 Scorpion today after my first class, just about to go play with it...6 hour battery charge time. It does sit pretty high, took off the shocks and tried to compress the springs a little, but couldn't....might have to cut off a curl or two...too dark to go outside, but can't wait, have a pile of river rock on the side of the house that's beging for attention...

lol...they are pretty fun for what they are! You can charge it with your regular RC charger, if it has a variable charge rate (in amps) I set it to 1 amp and it takes less than an hour. I might make a new battery pack that lasts longer. Its just AA batteries. I cut off about 4 coils off the springs. Brings it down a bit and makes it a little more stable. I might try cutting off even more, and maybe sometime mounting some oil filled shocks. I went to my parents house and picked up several hundred pounds of rock from the creek! Hopefully I can get them set up in the backyard tomorrow and crawl a little. ![[Linked Image]](http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/1949/dscf1539small4nu.jpg) Oh, and if you switch it to high gear, it goes through the snow pretty well! Floats on top. Not sure how it would do on fresh powder though, since it would be a lot softer than the kind of icy covered snow I have in my backyard. You can see all the tracks in this pic

Holy crap, it looks like you had about 20 of those things buzzing around, not just one. I guess you are having plenty of fun with it. And Talon, let me know how that 1:18 scale goes. It seemed like they didnt have much clearance but they still look like fun.

It's working awesome, i love it! I got the scorpion version, looked to have lower center of gravity. Did a bunch of in home crawling, was at a friends house, so we took all the shoes that were there and make a little course..and for a $40 truck and a bunch of shoes, i had a great time . Did some running without shocks all together...articulated great , but it didn't like to stick to the ground when faced with verticle obstacles 6" and up, it would climb the ledge with the shocks though. Eventually i setteled on a single shock up front and in back both in the center of the axel...i'd post pics but don't know where to host them. That ran pretty good, a nice compromise that kept the good flex but allowed more control in steering and steep climbs. Didn't want to cut any coils yet, just because it is still only a day old, figured i'd save cutting things for atleast a few days . All i have to say is i'm hooked. Only thing i wish was different was an even lower gear (i'm sure there's a mod out there), when the battery was running low and the wheels didn't spin as fast it was able to get traction it hadn't before...other than that it's awesome! I highly recomend it for a nood like me, so simple, yet so fun. Wish i had something like this when i was a kid...hint hint to all those dads out there. You're never too young to start the sport .
Will run on my pile of rocks today...i'll take pictures just incase i get a way to post them.

Here's how to post images on the board................... You cannot attach a picture directly to a post in this forum, so you have to use an outside website. I highly recommend www.imageshack.us . Here's how to post pictures directly to the forum: 1) Go to www.imageshack.us . Click the "Browse" button and locate the picture you want, and then click upload (pictures should be no bigger than 800x600 and 100kb in size) 2) Once the picture is uploaded, you will be brought to a screen that has a bunch of web addresses of your picture. Scroll down to the bottom and look for the one that says "Direct link to image", and using copy and paste, copy the address of your picture. This would be the one circled in red in the following picture: ![[Linked Image]](http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/4545/imshk1jh.jpg) 4) Come back to the forum, look for the "Img" button above the posting box, click it once, paste the URL for the image, and then click the "Img" box again. Your done. The code should look like this: ![[Linked Image]](http://www.toyotaoffroad.net/afertig/temp/img.jpg)
