LST's or moabs

LST's work better in mud/dirt/snow,and are pretty good on the rocks

Moabs work best on rocks, but suck in mud/dirt/snow

OH!

You can actually buy just the wheels and tires at Walmart for like $30. Now, mounting them to your clod axles will have to be a custom deal. I dont know how the 1:6 mounts so I cant help you there.

Yes, 60-100 USD. Check ebay. You'll see.

lol...they are pretty fun for what they are!

You can charge it with your regular RC charger, if it has a variable charge rate (in amps) I set it to 1 amp and it takes less than an hour. I might make a new battery pack that lasts longer. Its just AA batteries.

I cut off about 4 coils off the springs. Brings it down a bit and makes it a little more stable. I might try cutting off even more, and maybe sometime mounting some oil filled shocks.

I went to my parents house and picked up several hundred pounds of rock from the creek! Hopefully I can get them set up in the backyard tomorrow and crawl a little.

Oh, and if you switch it to high gear, it goes through the snow pretty well! Floats on top. Not sure how it would do on fresh powder though, since it would be a lot softer than the kind of icy covered snow I have in my backyard. You can see all the tracks in this pic smile

So Adam, how fast does it go in hi gear? You got the 1:18 one, right? Or the 1:6th?

Hate to ask a noob question, but when you make a bigger battery pack, doesn't that increase the voltage? or does that matter? When you do/if you do make a bigger battery pack post it here so i can see how to as well . The run time on the thing has been great though, compared to r/c's i've had as a kid. Going to try to get my pic of my front yard river crawling up later, have a final in half an hour .

Not if you have them in parallel. Voltage goes up if they are hooked up in series.

That's how a bunch a folks around here run multiple batteries on their rigs...

So I just ordered the Scorpion version of the 1:18 for my 5.5 year old. Santa is bringing it....

He outa be happy. I have a Traxxas Stampede, his brother has a Traxxas Rustler...and his is the one everybody else will want to play with.

I'm hoping for the 1:6 version, myself...I hope Santa is listening. Think he visits the OT forum? 20 bucks says he drives a 4runner.
