Getting the Wheeling Fever
1989 Toyota pickup, 2.4L, std. transmission, 4:10 gears. I bought the truck March of this year, only "mods" I've done are a new radio & speakers, and new tires.
I will be tearing down the truck this spring to fix: numerous oil leaks, timing chain, clutch, trans (4th gear), 4:56's, front & rear brakes (rear disc. conversion), new brake & fuel lines. If I have it torn down that much I was even thinking of having the frame powdercoated.
I have a digital cam. so I will try to document the build the best that I can. (that's if anyone is interested) <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

Getting all the parts together for the rebuild. Can someone recommend head studs (ARP?) or just new head bolts. Engine will be built stock.

the head studs are kind of nice for peace-of-mind, but for a stock application the head bolts are just fine, especially since a new set runs about $25 compared to $100 for the studs.

also, with the studs, you have to pull them all out anyway to get the head off if you do happen to blow a head gasket.
