Did you check the Transfer case? The shifter lever can move into a ôneutralö position. Shift it in and out of 4x4 and see what happens.

If itÆs the clutch or the Trans you will have to pull the transmission to get to either. So I would start but pulling the Trans and have a look at the clutch. ItÆs not a bad idea to get a new clutch even if thatÆs not the main problem. You will probably have to have the flywheel resurfaced too.
