STEVE DO YOU KNOW IF THE THROTTLE STOP SCREW HAS BEEN ADJUSTED , THIS IS THE LITTLE SCREW WITH A JAMNUT THAT STICKS STRAIGHT UP, THAT THE THROTTLE COMES BACK AGAINST AND REST ON , IF THIS SCREW IS MISSADJUSTED IT WILL CAUSE ALL KINDS OF IDEL PROBLEMS, BY THROWING OF THE TIME WHEN THE TPS IS SUPPOSED TO OPEN , AND YOU THROTTLE SHOULD NOT BE HANGING UP LIKE THAT , FIRST TRY TAKING OFF THE CABLE AND OPENING THE THROTTLE AND CLOSING IT A COUPLE OF TIME IT SHOULD COME BACK TO REST ON ITS OWN ,YOU MAY HAVE A BAD CABLE IF IT COMES BACK TO IDEL WITH THE CABLE DISSCONNECTED , IF IT DOESN,T AND THE STOP SCREW IS MISSADJUSTED YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE THE THROTTLE BODY OFF TO ADJUST THIS SCREW , SOMETIMES THEY GET TURNED BY SOMEONE USING IT AS AN IDEL SCREW AND IT IS NOT FOR THAT IT IS FOR HOLDING THE THROTTLE BLADE OFF OF THE THROTTLE BORE TO KEEP IT FROM STICKING TO THE BORE ITSELF, IF THE SCREW HAS BEEN TURNED , REMOVE THE THROTTLE BODY AND LOOSEN THE SCREW UP UNTILL THE THROTLE BLAD IS AGAINST THE BORE COMPLETELY CLOSED NOW TURN THE SCREW CLOCKWISE UNTIL THE BLADE JUST LIFTS OF THE BORE ABOUT .004 THOUSANDS , OR UNTILL YOU CAN JUST SEE DAYLIT UNDER IT AND LOCK THE SCREW NUT NOW ADJUST YOUR TPS SW, TO THE ON POSITION ON THE IDEL SIDE OF THE SW SO THAT IT IS MAKING CONTACT THEN OPEN THE THROTTLE SLIGHTLY UNTILL YOU LOOSE THAT CONTACT NOW AS YOU OPEN THE TPS FARTHER YOU SHOULD MAKE CONTACT ON THE OTHER SET OF SW CONTACTS, YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE ON OFF ON SW MOVEMENT .. Ya I already went through the procedure for setting the throttle position screw. ItÆs a bit back in the thread.
And it did seam to fix the little surging thing it was doing.

But itÆs still idling up and advancing timing when it shouldnÆt. And I have still to figure that one out.

Anyway IÆm going to drive it with the weird timing advance problem for a while and see what it dose at 200 mile or so. Then IÆll start tackling the problem again.

thanks
