Have you looked at a natural gas conversion. I used to work for a large natural gas provider. All their service trucks were converted to run on natural gas. Some things to consider - Vehicles can be converted to run bi-fuel. They could run on gasoline or natural gas.
- The natural gas fuel tanks were much more impact resistant than gasoline fuel tanks. I've seen some of the test videos. It's amazing what the pressure tanks can withstand.
- I haven't checked the price of natural gas these days. I don't know if it's as economical as it once was.
- For a time there were tax breaks that would cover almost 100% of the conversion costs. It may be worthwhile to check if these are still available.
- The engine wear decreased dramatically when running 100% natural gas.
Good luck and let us know how to goes.
