I have a real nice Bic but I lost the cap. I'd sacrifice it for $20.00 plus shipping.

Between pencils, ball points and fountain pens, I have about six of them in Black and Bordeaux..... I didn't realize folks collected them. Mine are leftover "necessities" from the '80s when no self-respecting executive would dare be seen in public without at least a pair. I usually kept a pair in my pocket and another pair (different color, of course) in plain view in the briefcase for customers to notice ... and a couple of fountain pens for signing letters and "official" documents - in the belief that everybody loves to pet a fat hog.
I guess that symbolism has given way to the Crackberry...
They are very good writing instruments, though.

Collect them...? There are ones out there that are worth far, far more than any of our rigs!
I have the standard issue Meisterstuck in black and gold. My barrel cracked about two years after getting it. When I contacted them they said it would be $35 for replace it. I said "$35 to fix something that should not have broken on a $150+ pen?" They said yes. I said "Zippo will fix or replace a lighter forever, no questions asked." They didn't care. So I coughed up the $35.

No way I am paying $150 for 1 pen. Tag - The pen is mightier than the sword and the symbolism is equally important. The pornographic one in the middle (a Diplomat) is the executive office equivalent of 35" tires - or an AK-47. It's designed to strike fear in the minds of subordinates and give junior executives "pen envy": ![[Linked Image]](http://i32.imagethrust.com/t/101848/img2591.jpg) Like 35" tires and AK-47s, it says "mine is bigger than yours" and "mine holds more rounds than yours" - or - "mine will crawl all over you and get to the top of the hill first". The nice thing is that it costs less than 35s, never needs balancing, doesn't wear out and has traction in all weather conditions - although it does need rotating from time-to-time. It holds more rounds than an AK-47, is capable of slaying thousands with one stroke, never jams or freezes but occasionally it does need the magazine refilled - that's why serious combatants keep a spare in a shoulder holster. It was once the weapon of choice in executive circles - perhaps still is. I use mine every day, but not with the same zest as before I retired - now it seems more like target practice or shooting cripples. Frank
