If it wrote better than a Pentel Microball xfine, I'd buy it, and not care about the teeth marks I put in it. That fat boy reminds me of a Clinton stogie...

Never cared much for Mont Blanc writing utensils. They're too fat - kind of like trying to write with those damn first grade pencils . Now, here you go. Cross - spend as much as you want.

Ive lost two decent Cross sets over the years. I have not lost myMont, nor has it gone MIA.
I've not used a fountain one, but I think the regular pen is nice to hold onto. And I can honestly say that I do think they write nicely. Very smooth.

I have the standard issue Meisterstuck in black and gold. My barrel cracked about two years after getting it. I have the same prob. now it was my first and it has sentamental value. I would like to get a new barrel for it. I agree with frank They put off an "air of sophistication" in the art of contract signing war. in my line of work i need the elderly to respect me and my abilities due to the fact that i look 16 and am helping them through a very tough time. Having nice suits and accessories such as mont blancs give off the right impression to people who know what you hand them to write with durring that most important meeting. First impressions are everything. That sounds like a good excuse right? that is what i tell my wifey when i want to buy something expensive. I have used that line for all my Mont Blancs and also my watch. Now if i could just come up with a way to talk her into getting me a few Gen-1's for x-mass

in my line of work i need the elderly to respect me and my abilities due to the fact that i look 16 and am helping them through a very tough time. If you're charging them for the work, it's a good idea to not look like you're making too much money - at least from them. There's a line between appearing needy and extravagant that shouldn't be crossed when performing personal service - unless the demand for the quality of work is so high that the price is justified due to personal satisfaction or saving the client money in the end.... but yes, it is better to appear professional so long as it's a natural manner and not displayed or flaunted with an air of trying to impress others. After all, there are a lot of things in life that aren't needed but folks buy. I consider SnapOn tools extravagant, but a professional mechanic feels differently since he uses them every day, they feel good in his hand, last a long time and he looks like he knows what he's doing - Mont Blanc pens, good suits, a nice briefcase and automobile are the tools of a businessman - brains and professional conduct are required by both types if they are to be successful. Professionalism is great - and in your line of work (mortician, was it?) there's no substitute for it so long as the customer isn't made to feel guilty if they don't spend the maximum. After my time in the apparel business I probably should write a book on the psychology of professional demeanor and dress - but when I take a look around at today's atmosphere I don't see the line forming to buy it. Frank
