Need a Spot
Does anyone out there have a set of factory rear coils they are willing to part with. I have a broken drivers side coil, and no money to buy a lift, and don't want to waste the money on new factory coils. I could sent a UPS shipping label, or call tag to cover the shipping.

I may still have my stock springs, but I may have thrown them out. I'll have to check.

They break at the pigtail. I've broken 2. Just noticed the other day that one that I replaced 2 years ago is broken. You don't even know it's broke until you jack up the rear axle and let it hang. Then the spring falls out.

That's wacky, man. I jump my Sportage fairly often and have yet to break one. You guys are so rough on your poor vehicles...

I'll have to check my stash, I might actually have some Eibach rear springs - a big upgrade from the stock rear springs!

If I have them I'll let you know, they would be nice for you smile

I might have thrown them away though... I posted on here a bunch of times asking if anybody wanted some Eibach rear springs for cheap and nobody wanted them...

2002 Sportage 4dr 4x4 soon to undergo an Extreme Makeover!

If nobody finds a set I can grab a pair CHEAP at our local pulling yard for you and ship them out, its no big deal, they come out w/o tools if its suspended off the ground ;-)

Chances are any that you find on a wrecked Sportage will either be broken already or stressed to the point where they will break soon. A good spring has a pigtail at each end. If it's missing either one or both pigtails it's NFG.

And I'll bet there's alot of Sportages running around with busted rear coils and the owners don't even know it.

i think that's freak, as in a freak incident. i ran the stock coils without spacers, with spacers, with coiul retainers and flexed the crap out of them on a constant basis for years and years and never, ever snapped a coil, ever. i think it's a climate-related issue or a possible lot number-related issue, as in, a bad batch of coils made at some point and used for a few years here and there could have resulted in coil spring breakage over these years, but who knows?
