I thought I could bait Michael out... but here's the sinker: Uzi has left the building.

First day out, shop-dust still in place:

Shop-dust now covered in Prairie City clay and mud:

I spent a day last week doing dog-pony-and-Uzi shows at the local State Vehicular Recreation Area, and taking legislative wonks for test drives. Nuthin' to extreme, as I have a high-idle issue and hadn't charged the air-locker air tank, but still enough to make our congress and assembly staff guests pucker.

For added richness to the irony, though we started the day with four vehicles for ride-alongs, mine was the only one still running at the end of the day. It certainly raised my stress level a bit that the first run after too many years was gonna be with legislative VIPs!

I went trolling, and caught myself a Michael.
You can thank me later for using barb-less hooks.

Sean must have read the Fish and Game pamphlet because he seemed to have figured it out.

Randii called me to let me know what he was about.

Welcome to the trophy wall, Michael.

Back on topic for just a minute -- the rear zipper ain't gonna last much longer in its current condition as the thread gives up the ghost, so I expect to be visiting an upholstery shop soon to see what they can do for a quick and hopefully cheap fix.

BTW, since there is actually a post featuring UZI for once, how about some info:

How far forward is the solid axle vs. stock?

appx. 3" according to another thread

What springs are you using?

[edit] found the answer to this one in my "folder of information on vehicles I am e-stalking". I have you as running 7-leaf waggies. Are they flipped? In the pic they look either inverted or very flat. Any problems with fatigue with that set-up?

Is the winch going to find its way back up front, or do you have other plans for it?

You have a SAS, 5.0 engine swap, and dual Marlin Crawlers... about time to break down and make some real rock sliders, isn't it?

But most importantly, how's the throttle response with that new motor?

Man Maine now has 1 real offroad park and it just opened so has very few trails. Luck son of us

In the almost 2 years I've been apart of this forum I've never seen a picture of Uzi I had imagined it taller lol.

Looks good Randii.

Never having had a soft top I cant even try and pretend I have something relevent to this topic to talk about. So i wont go there haha.

After you get it fixed, spray the zipper with silicon about once a month or so. Not WD-40 or other lubricant, but spray silicon.

Keeps lasting long. As I always say, use the right lubricant for the job.

I figured Matt would be the one to give me hell for that.

I was giving rides to the Off Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) legislative office staffers, under the watchful eye of Daphne Greene, the Deputy Director of the OHMVR Division of California State Parks. As far as alibis go, I feel pretty good about this one.
