The Aussies have done it. Check out this guy's page. Has a lot of detail about the swap too. Cool website, very nice guy too. http://members.ozemail.com.au/~jonhel5/I personally would rather keep it all a Toyota, but that's just me. how about the V8 out of a toyota century, an all aluminum, 4.0l hemi... ![[Linked Image]](http://hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/p155811_image_large.jpg)

Toyota century? I had to look that one up. What an interesting motor. Looks like another copy and improvement on a U.S. design, just like the Land Cruiser F series motors.
It almost looks like they put Corola heads on an aluminum Chevy 350 style block. I wonder how much power it made?

There was a guy on the ford-truck forum putting a 390FE into a toyota 4x4 pickup. I think its crazy to put wierd engines in good vehicles unless your just playing around. To think that would somehow improve the vehicle is nuts. Any V8 in a Toyota Pickup is going to be a problem in so many ways, dependability, too heavy on front end, overheating problems, its just crazy. If I had to have a V8, I'd go with the 350 into a Landcruser and stay with something that actually does make the vehicle better.

The Century was a mid-80's Limo-type vehicle that Toyota made in Japan only, I beleive. One of the guys @ Fly-N-Hi put one in an 85 Toy pickup back in the late 80's early 90's. It's a darned nice engine. Only thing I didn't like about his swap was the lack of EFI. As a person who's done a 3.8 Buick swap and a 4.3, I'd never do anyhting but a 3.4. Yeah, the 4.3 seems fast in the van (I used an Astro engine), but in the pickup is a different story. go 3.4.
Brian K. Gallus I have nothing important to say.

I wonder how much power it made? yep, on the site i got that from, the guy says he uses 20R pistons and head gaskets, and in australia it's a moderately common engine. i'd say it's built more like a tiny mopar B block, being that the distributor is in the front

I've got a 5.0 HO in my '85. I also am using the AOD ford tans. I did the conversion about a year ago and it took me about a month to complete. It's awesome. I haven't had any problems with it since the conversion. I've drag raced it and have not babied it a bit. I use the stock tcase with a V6 rear axle with 5.29's and a spool. Lockright up front. The funny part is I still get 18mpg on the highway. Oh ya, I'm selling it in order to restore my '72 Bronco which I will also put a 5.0 HO/AOD in.

As per the "gentleman's agreement" it's only rated at 320HP, but you know it's good for more.

No, not to be nasty but mine isn't hammered and also I have a pickup. That is a pretty good price though, if it was done right. I just don't like the 5 speed. I just posted my truck in the for sale section.
