Getting the Wheeling Fever

What options are out there for a V6 3rd? I know I don't want an air or electric locker (something automatic?) The diff will be going into a 4cyl. housing, so are any modifications needed? Do I also need to swap the front diff?
The gears (4.10) are then same between trucks.
