Getting the Wheeling Fever
What options are out there for a V6 3rd? I know I don't want an air or electric locker (something automatic?) The diff will be going into a 4cyl. housing, so are any modifications needed? Do I also need to swap the front diff?
The gears (4.10) are then same between trucks.

Body Damage is Cool
i know you can get a true trac LSD and i'm pretty sure auburn makes a posi for the V6 3rd. you can put a V6 3rds in a 4cyl housing no problem. i had to clearance the ring gear notch on the housing a tiny bit(i think it was a factory screwup, as the flange on the axle is a double thickness, the top layer was notched but not the inner layer).

Downeyoff-road.com sells a limited slip diff. I believe these are the OEM ones with semi-metalic clutch plates. They are suppose to last a long time, and give good performance.

Roll Me Over
I love the TrueTrac - great unit. I've owned two - one that was in three different vehicles, and one in my 96.

Just the fact that i'm moving all the time almost every 4 months, currently in MTL. Been living in many different cities the last few years. (mtl/toronto/brantford/waterloo/golden/rossland/ squamish/whistler/nelson/kelowna/.../u get the idea...

That's also why i've already log over 40,000km in 14 months of truck ownership! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

Have you considered a mechanical locker - something like the Aussie locker? Pretty easy to install and cheaper than a LSD.
