Howdy, all. I've relatively recently purchased a '98 t100. I'm looking to get a manual for it. The only manuals I've been impressed with for any of my vehicles have been the OEM factory manuals. I've got a chance to get one on ebay, but it is only one volume. Did I see somewhere correctly that there is more than one volume in the collection if you buy the manual new from Toyota? Also, it is a '96 manual. I assume that there will be insignificant differences between the '96 and '98 3.4L truck. Let me know if I'm wrong. thanks

tim

I think between 96 and 98 they came out with OBDII and ABS.

I got my manual off techinfo.toyota.com. Just paid for one day. Set Firefox to always save PDF's and then click on all the pages. $10 + a few hours.

Then I zipped it up and shared it on eMule. I paid for my truck already. I can't be giving money to the criminal dealer mafia, where it's SOP 150% markup on parts and $80 for labour. Instead I have to save cash for things like clutch pedal bracket and axle welding.

a hard copy is definitely worth the $, IMO, and the unbound printed copy is a PITA also.

You said it. There's like a $12 stapler at officemax that will bind big stacks. 1/2 inch staples are enough to hold chapters together pretty sturdily. Of course it looks ghetto but also it doesn't matter if I get it dirty.

The electrical diagrams came out real nice. I took a color laser printer someone was throwing out. Thats how I got the truck, too, except the printer wasn't abused.

A three ring binder and one or two reams of prepunched paper don't cost that much...

I've got a digital copy of the roomie's Corolla; got the tuneup specs and the schematics printed out. The car is pretty reliable to date, so no big deal, plus she can pull it up and look at things if she likes without bugging me about it. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Body Damage is Cool
What would be really nice...and I may download a copy before my bound copy gets trashed...

The guy I bought the 40 from only had Haynes manuals, but he had a house copy and a garage copy, so you could sit around and study a project for a couple nights without having to leave the nasty greasy copy on the coffee table or be able to double check that spec again after you left a smudged thumprint over it last time around and made a digit illegible.
