I have an 88 jeep cherokee that has a mind of it's own. It's idle when started pegs at three grand. If i unplug the tps,or vacum to the map idle drops to normal.when i plug the map vacum back up it pegs at three grand. If i plug the tps back up it idles at 1500 rpm.I replaced the tps about a month ago and thought it was fixed. It's back now.Have already tried ect, map.no change.ANY IDEAS?

Tune-up, check for vacume leaks.... ETC...

What is the map voltage at idle? What is the TPS voltage at idle?

Body Damage is Cool
i dont know what tx sent you, but most of the time it is a sticking idle control sensor. all you need to do is remove it and give it a good dousing of carb cleaner, and scrub it with an old toothbrush. also spray out the hole it goes into

out of all the jeeps in this town the d**n gremlin had to invade mine

I've done so much, with so little for so long i can practicly do anything with nothing
