Yes, the tranny had new bearings and syncros put in, not new gears, so I'm not blaming anyone.

Three teeth sheared off the gear. My wife was driving the truck at the time. She was cruising down the highway at about 65 MPH in 5th gear when it broke. Fluid level was full. Must have just been fatigue from 20 years of driving. The 3 teeth were sitting in the bottom of the case by the drain plug. Didn't see any other damage.

I swapped out the tranny from my '84 4Runner that I just picked up to make into a family rig. So that project is on hold till I get the tranny fixed or get a replacement.
