as far as strength goes its hard to beat and SX swamper. They are heavy too, I don't know that you can find a heavier tire in any given size. They can be tough to balance and keep balanced. Not that you would notice all that much anyway with the lousy ride.

I wouldn't dismiss sidewall strength competely in mud. Plenty of small sharp rocks have claimed tires in mud holes.

For a daily driven vehicle with a need for mud tires I would look at the more agressive radial designs. Some of the better mud tires in this class would include the Swamper Truxus MT, Radial Swamper, BFG MT, Mickey Thomson MT. I've seen and heard good things about the Truxus tires, but haven't used them personally. The Good Year MTR's aren't the best mud tire IMHO (I love them anyway).

If none of those tires is agressive enough for you, the good old standard bias Swamper TSL is hard to beat anda better mud tire than the SX, and is quite a bit lighter than the SX's too.

Beyond that, pay attention to what others are successfully or not so successfully using in your area.
