I wouldn't dismiss sidewall strength competely in mud.

Not dismiss it completely by any means. You never know what could be hiding in a mud pit; rocks, tree roots/stumps, broken truck parts. But I'd rank sidewalls as less of an issue for someone that does mud compared to someone running the rock sluices at Disney.

The Good Year MTR's aren't the best mud tire IMHO (I love them anyway).

The MT/R wasn't designed to be a 'mud' tire per say anyway; as in, it wasn't the primary focus. They were initially marketed as an 'off-road' tire with more of a focus on rocks. MT/R = maximum traction/reinforced sidewall. They are 'good enough' in the mud, much better than an AT, but worse than many of the other on-off-road tires. But like you said, I love them anway <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
