I think my buddy happened to get a particularly good set of SXs, cause my opinions of em are a lot different. I'm sure part of that is Interco's quality control. Also, part of it is when you buy tires from online warehouses, sometimes they'll send you out-of-round and unbalanceable tires that local shops have sent back.

Anyways the tire in question is 38.5x14.5x15. They took a bit of weight, but did balance out. The first thing I noticed is, they aren't really that loud. I would say yes, louder than a radial mud terrain, but not anything like the roar of TSLs. They ride a bit rough at lower speeds due to the knobbiness, but it balances out at like 25. They get very minor flat spotting overnight, much less than other bias plies.

Offroad traction is awesome. The width makes for a huge footprint and great flotation. He's had em mostly on mud and trails, not many rocks here. The SXs have really good sidewall protection.

They are wearing very quick, but the test vehicle does have a spooled rear and a front end with worn out tie rod ends and loose bearings. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> I'm not sure how long they would normally last, maybe 25k?

I would not recommend for a daily driver, because of the short life if nothing else. For a weekend warrior that drives to the trails, sure. If you are not worried about wear, I would recommend em over other swampers. Unless you are doing straight mud, then you gotta go boggers.
