You could always talk to Don, located on this board. He fabs some mighty fine looking and functioning bumpers.

It does sound like you're looking for an ARB, but I would second the suggestion for looking at a Don bumper. I've been very impressed with mine and it was a breeze to install. I've beat the P!$$ out of it and nothing's happened but paint-scratches. Cheaper than an ARB too. It also has a superb approach-angle and is winch-ready.

It's welded up 8" channel iron with a diamond tread top piece. The 6" lights are Warn fog lights; the 8" lights are pencil beam driving lights mounted inside 8" steel pipe. He wasn't happy about forming the eyebrows, but I insisted.

You're pretty observant to pick up my dog. That's Hazel, my brindle boxer. She's over 70 pounds, which is pretty big for a female.

you got a boxer too? we have a white boxer really big guy i'd say 80 pnds? and then we have a fat beagle haha

I got a discount because I bought both front and rear bumpers at the same time. Front bumper is about $440 according to Don's website. I got front and rear for $410 and $360 respectively and shipping from British Columbia to Colorado for the combined set (about double the weight of one) was about $160. I don't know if shipping to you would be much different. Keep in mind, however, that the price of steel has gone up since then (May 2005) so you'll have to check with Don for up-to-date info.

You can find more info on Don's website. Look about midway down the page for "Custom Welding".

You also should condsider sliders. In my strange way of thinking I think they are more important then bumpers but they do not stand out as much if you are just interested in making the vehicle look tough. If you look at some of the pics posted in this thread you will see them on the side of one of the trucks that has the front and rear Don bumpers. Don makes those as well. I have the same ones and they just tear rock apart instead of letting the bottom edges of your truck bend up.

Very good point. Back about a year ago, when I first contacted Don, I was thinking front bumper first, but then thought about my rocker panels, which were/are pretty bashed-up. I didn't want to get them any more bashed-up (for fear that I wouldn't be able to open or close my doors) so I got the sliders first then got the bumpers a few months later.

I got rear-ended just a few weeks ago. The Chevy pickup that hit me had his hood crumpled, grill cracked up, and running lights popped out.

I didn't get so much as a scratch. He mainly hit my spare tire (could tell by the horizontal dirt/dust marks on the tire). Rim didn't bend and the door was unaffected.

I've slammed the rear bumper into solid rock before, with the full weight of the truck when my engine coughed-out on some steep climbs in Moab. It's some tough stuff. Definitely saved me from body damage.

And the sliders are like tank armor. Slammed those with the weight of the truck as well. Pulverizes boulders. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I defintly want to get sliders from don eventually, but I want to see about designing my own bumpers. I really like the Don design but I want to see what I can do.
