I got rear-ended just a few weeks ago. The Chevy pickup that hit me had his hood crumpled, grill cracked up, and running lights popped out.

I didn't get so much as a scratch. He mainly hit my spare tire (could tell by the horizontal dirt/dust marks on the tire). Rim didn't bend and the door was unaffected.

I've slammed the rear bumper into solid rock before, with the full weight of the truck when my engine coughed-out on some steep climbs in Moab. It's some tough stuff. Definitely saved me from body damage.

And the sliders are like tank armor. Slammed those with the weight of the truck as well. Pulverizes boulders. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
