Getting the Wheeling Fever
I was rolling down the driver's side window yesterday (2001 2wd 2dr convt) when the window just dropped into the door! I got home and took the door panel off and saw that the cable was broken. Now what? There's not exactly a lot of room to work inside the door. Can the cable be repaired, or do I have to replace more? How do I work on this?

Thanks much,
Kris

You have to take the window and motor out and replace the whole window motor assembly. If you have a manual it's not hard, just follow the instructions. The motor assembly is about $100 USD from the dealer here. I had to replace mine a while ago.

Cool, so the cable is part of the motor assembly and not the regulator aseembly? I just want to make sure I'm clear on that. I don't have manual, yet. Anyone suggest a good one?

Thanks,
Kris

The cable is broken, do I need a new motor or window regulator? Hopefully, not both. Also, does anyone have detailed procedures for this fix?

Thanks much,
Kris

Thanks. Now, if I can get them to give it to me around the MSRP price and figure out how to change it out.

Thanks,
Kris
