I bought a rebuilt slave cylinder for my 88. Went to install it today, and found that the hole for the "locating pin" on the replacement was about 3/32" closer to the threaded hole than the original. I ended up pulling the guts from the replacement, and rebuilding the original with them, rather than mess around for hours trying to get the hole opened up enough to use it.

Since this was a re-man piece, I'm assuming that there must be other applications where this part would fit ?

Anybody know why this hole was re-located ?
